President's Message

The accomplishments and success of Sierra Pacific Resources result from the performance of an exceptional group of employees. Every day, a variety of talents and perspectives are brought to our workplace for the betterment of our company and the communities we serve. Success can only be achieved when diversity is respected, embraced and allowed to flourish.

This is why our company’s commitment to nurturing and celebrating diversity calls for action. To date, about a quarter of our employees have participated in an extensive program called “Diversity Champions,” and we expect the number of graduates will continue to grow. The program promotes stronger relationships and a renewed sense of teamwork and inclusion. We know from experience that our differences help us win.

We also understand that diversity does not stop at the front door. It is our duty to embrace a responsible role throughout the communities in which we do business. Through our Supplier Diversity Program, we are striving to expand our vendor base. This allows us to better connect with a growing number of suppliers to assure that the quality and cost of our products are more and more competitive.

Nevada has given us tremendous opportunities as a business and as individuals. We enjoy a vibrant state and an excellent quality of life. We are privileged to serve here, and we have a responsibility to do our jobs well. Embracing diversity increases our opportunity for success.
